WE CAN

Wanting to make a difference I ponder all the time

One person who sees things differently, that’s me

With a different view of how things should be

Someone who wants to make things better than they are

But at times I feel alone in my thoughts

How can one person bring about change?

When at times I feel totally out of place

Why do I feel the way I feel?

And think the way I think

With a passion to invoke change

Enlighten as many as I can

Bring about a change in our thoughts and beliefs

Change in the way we love and how we live

Bring to the forefront those who are neglected

The issues most important to us all

Issues about fairness in our justice system

Fairness in opportunity for all

with no restrictions

Remove the barriers that divide us

Remove the concept that someone must lose

In order to win

Practice loving more and hating less

Increase the desire to do a good deed

Cease promoting violence on all levels

Cease with the philosophy that sex sells

And allow morality to resurface

Emphasize we’re all connected, we’re all one

Your burden is my burden

Start the conversations and discussions about change

Encourage others to think and re-think their own perspective

About life and love

With hopes of creating a paradigm shift

The goal is to edify, heal and uplift

I believe we can change, I believe we can do it

I know we can

Collectively, we can.
