UNRECOGNIZED
LOVE
One may seek and
desire to find that special someone
Your proxy so to
speak
Spend a lifetime
looking – never finding
Spend a lifetime
wondering
Where could she be?
Where could he be?
Searching for
happiness, wanting true love
Yet overlooking its
very existence
Scorned and shielded
by life’s lessons
And negative past
experiences
Heart not quite
ready to be loved
In its present form
Resisting it
steadfast
Unable to invoke
discernment
Mind cluttered with
abnormal levels of stress
And stability is not
at its best
And so another one
bites the dust
Another opportunity
for love dismissed or overlooked
And the saga
continues
of love going
unrecognized.
