IF I COULD HELP
ONE PERSON
If I could help one person
I’ve done a great deed
Just give them self-confidence
And build up their self-esteem
To hope for brighter days
And to never be afraid
To reap life’s rich rewards
From the roads that they can
pave
If I could help one person
Who shall it be?
Should I be like most people?
And just concentrate on me
The gifts that I have
Are not to be concealed
They are to be shared
And without ill will
If I could help one person
Turn their life around
Show them life’s finer points
And cut loose that in-crowd
If I could help one person
Conquer their daily fears
Re-instill in them faith
And start to wipe their tears
Succeed in all areas
Whether win or lose
You see, courage is what
matters
In whatever task you choose
If I could help one person!
